IFCC Webinar: Quality in Clinical Laboratory

0

Next IFCC webinar on “Quality in Clinical Laboratories” will be held on June 15, 2021.

It is widely recognized that errors in laboratory medicine could significantly compromise patient safety independently of time, place and measurement procedure. All clinical laboratories have to implement measures to detect high-risk processes, and to identify incidents and associated risks to patient safety. A wide number of instruments have been implemented to maintain the so-called “quality” of the process in clinical laboratories, and recently the IFCC have created a new task force on Global Lab Quality with the aim of providing scientific support teams to train and develop training programs for participating laboratories.

Certificate of participation will be provided at the end of this webinar.

IFCC webinar on “Clinical Applications of Thrombosis and Hemostasis”

Register for next IFCC webinar on “Clinical Applications of Thrombosis and Hemostasis”

Date and Time: June 6, 2021, 7:00 AM Eastern Time US; 1:00 PM Central European Time, 7:00 PM Beijing Time

Thrombosis and hemostasis tests are of importance for the diagnosis of hemorrhagic diseases and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). They are laboratory determinants for the mechanism of thrombosis occurrence, the classification and diagnosis of thrombotic diseases and thrombophilia, as well as the indices of the monitoring of anticoagulant therapy. Several studies showed that thromboembolic events were a serious complication of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Autopsy revealed that the death was associated with pulmonary thromboembolism and DIC. In this webinar will provide an overview on the clinical application of thrombosis and hemostasis tests in the monitoring of new oral anticoagulants, in the diagnosis of thrombosis and hemostasis, and the performance of thrombosis and hemostasis tests in COVID-19 patients.

Please ensure you register to attend the live event and have access to the recording and to the certificate.
