What is IFCC eAcademy?<\/h4>\n

The IFCC eAcademy is an open educational resource\u00a0containing distance-learning materials created and\/or\u00a0reviewed by IFCC experts for the continuous professional\u00a0training development of members of IFCC member\u00a0organizations.<\/p>\n

These educational materials are composed of about 45\u00a0videos counting more than 25 hours. Up to now, this\u00a0huge amount of knowledge in laboratory sciences is\u00a0available only in English.<\/p>\n

To facilitate access to this\u00a0knowledge to a greater number of professionals, IFCC has
\ninitiated a project of collaborative translation of these\u00a0videos to Spanish.<\/p>\n

What does collaborative translation mean?<\/h4>\n

It means that a large number of people work simultaneously in the translation of videos from English to Spanish. Each of\u00a0those people are called \u201ccollaborators\u201d. Therefore, a small contribution in translating the video coupled with the\u00a0contributions of other partners can achieve the enormous task of translating all the educational content. Everything
\ncounts; even the translation of a single word is helpful if we add the efforts of many.<\/p>\n

How I can help?<\/h4>\n

To coordinate collaborative work IFCC uses a platform called Amara<\/strong>. If you speak English and Spanish (whatever is your\u00a0mother or second language) you can help. All contributions are important. There are no small tasks in a collaborative\u00a0project. Just go online:\u00a0http:\/\/amara.org\/es\/teams\/ifcc\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Then go to link \u201cRegister\u201d to create an account on the website. You can also log in using any of your Google, Facebook or\u00a0LinkedIn accounts. Once you are registered, you can ask the administrator to be add to the translation team as a\u00a0\u201ccollaborator\u201d.<\/p>\n

Those who only speaks English can help making the video transcript. They can transform in text the words spoken in\u00a0English at the video. This transcript facilitates the subsequent task of translators.<\/p>\n

If you speak English and Spanish and are expert in any of the topics of the videos, you can offer your work as a\u00a0\u201creviewer\u201d. A reviewer is somebody who speak both languages fluently and at the same time have knowledge about the\u00a0video content. He or She may approve translations suggested by translators. If you want to become a reviewer, just\u00a0contact IFCC or contact the administrator of the platform.<\/p>\n

Can anyone participate?<\/h4>\n

Anyone who speaks English and Spanish can collaborate because finally all the translations will be reviewed. There are no\u00a0small help, up to a single word counts. We need create a huge community of collaborators. So, we will be happy if you\u00a0want to promote this initiative among your contacts or within your professional institutions.<\/p>\n
